How to End the World | Patch Notes 1

Hey all, we’ve made some changes to the How to End the World rules and format based on our first two weeks of experience.

In order:

  • You can now move 4 tiles instead of 2 - this is to give more flexibility to players when trying to accomplish something

  • You can now dash to move an extra 6 tiles, which is about half the map in total. This may get tuned back down if this proves to be too much

  • I’ve adjusted the types of missions people will be sharing to make it a bit easier to jump into

  • Certain events after you explore will hang around. These get marked by a yellow “!” on the map. If the player triggering them left to go do something else, they’re free game - otherwise, they’re reserved for the triggering player

We’ve added chat commands for all those niggly little things you can never remember. As follows:

    • !hew (explains the game)

    • !makeacharacter (how to make a character)

    • !skills (list of skills you can acquire during character creation)

    • !skills-hidden (list of skills you need to learn through story events)

    • !turn (what you do to take a turn)

    • !attack (how to perform an attack)

    • !maneuvers (list of manuevers)

    • !explore (what happens when you explore)

    • !entrench (how to entrench, the different options for bonuses)

    • Let us know if we forgot anything and we’ll add it in!

  • You can add +1 to your attack, defense, or maneuver when rolling for each adjacent ally - giving a huge boost to packs that stay together

  • We’ve reduced the cooldown on !3d6, !d6, and !d20 so you don’t need to wait forever if you accidentally slip up on a roll, or need to roll multiples.

  • We’ve named all the NPCs. Now you know the name of your prey, you monster!

Things are still in motion, definitely contribute feedback if you have it (and in fact, some of the above items were directly from player feedback) and we’ll look forward to seeing you tomorrow!
